Denise Hall

  

Denise is the Managing Director of Mysteps Ltd, an education software development company. Its SpecialSteps Living with Science portfolio builds on NESTA funded research which identified best practice in using ICT to support personalised learning and total access for people with special needs. It focuses on the science curriculum from a practical perspective, eg Healthy Eating, Science in the Home. Mysteps Ltd works closely with 10 special needs schools to ensure the content is fit for purpose, stimulating and fun.

Denise was BT’s Head of Education for 8 years creating a new business division and launching the first subscription service for schools accessing the internet and developed an online training service for companies. During this time, she designed an education community network which informed the Government’s National Grid for Learning and became an advisor to government on ICT in education and worked closely with the telecomm regulator, OFTEL.

Denise was also responsible for identifying new business opportunities across the whole of the Government sector with specific emphasis on internet-based services and solutions, such as NHSNet - a virtual private network for the health community.

Overall, she has 25 years experience in international telecommunications and marketing.

Denise is an FRSA, Board Member of the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and deputy chair of the OCR standards committee. She was a member of the National Skills Taskforce, was an advisor to QCA on qualifications and a member of the DTI Information Age Partnership.
